The continuing education programme in Technology and Public Policy (TPP) is offered by the interdisciplinary Institute of Science, Technology and Policy (ISTP), which involves professors across various departments. The ISTP aims to make a major contribution towards increasing the policy relevance of scientific research at ETH Zurich, and towards educating future policy analysts and decision-makers in government, the private sector, and society at the interface of science, engineering, and policy-making.
The TPP programme has a high 'ETH content'. ETH faculty from various departments does most of the teaching, with the highest teaching load placed on professors from the Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences (D-GESS). The 'Learning from Practitioners' component of the programme involves guest lecturers/speakers from both the private and public sector, international organisations and civil society.
The programme is led by the Programme Director Prof. Dr. Thomas Bernauer as well as Deputy Director Prof. Dr. Tobias Schmidt and managed by the Programme Manager.
